• Among many of their characters and comics, Apple Kingdom will be featuring “CatDog forever” at the Convention. “CatDog forever" is Apple Kingdom first comic series created by our Creative Director Pak Lok, the two main characters are called Pilot (Cat) and Dobi (Dog). The story background is based on Hong Kong local culture Kiosk and local restaurant which offers take away services.
• Apple Kingdom will also be featuring “The Bi-Polar Man”, and they will be introducing its brush plating figures, and the artist Little Thunder. She will have her comic/ picture book introduced during the show as well. “The Bi-Polar Man” is a story about the life of the extremely suppressed ordinary man, Tsui Kwong Wing. It is full of entertaining literature and art, fantasy, suspense, horror, love, affection, action comedy.

Established in 1997, DEVILROBOTS are a design team of five (5) from Japan that are well known for their whimsical, yet sometimes sinister characters and designs. Led by the Art Director Shinichiro Kitai (pictured left), DEVILROBOTS specializes in graphic and character designs, illustrations, motion graphics and web design. As the creators of the recognizable TO-FU Oyako!, one of Japan’s most popular contributions to the toy world, DEVILROBOTS has demonstrated how a simple character can be turned into a useful and emotive medium. With exhibitions held in Japan, New York, and Paris, they are highly recognized worldwide for their works. A little evil and robotic fun is their taste, and the original world of “Cute, but Toxic” is in effect.

Dokuronoko is a brand of toys and apparel designed by Shigeru Imamura, the Creative Director of the popular Japanese clothing brand Collars.  It is manufactured by Dive Co. Ltd. and is available through Dive's international distributor, Rise Co. Ltd.

• The Japanese comic artist and clothing designer, Shigeru Imamura, will release two new products at STGCC for his brand Dokuronoko. One is a capsule toy of Dokuronoko, the strange mushroom character featured in many of Shigeru's illustrations. It will come in ten different colorful designs and one secret design by Devilrobots.
• In addition Dokuronoko will also be selling an exclusive resin figure called Teppei at the convention. Teppei who was once a normal dog until he ate Dokuronoko has been transformed into a punk rock beagle. There will only be a 150 pcs of this limited edition of Teppei wearing a STGCC t-shirt. Shigeru Imamura himself will also be at the booth to sign the figures.

Comic Artists Profiles

• Keith: A 3D animation graduate of the Sheridan College, Canada, his works blends funk and post-modern style effortlessly. Keith is winner for “Best Overseas Comic Award” at the Oriental Animation & Comic Competition 2007, Guangzhou and also the finalist for “Shorei Award” at International Manga Award 2007, Japan.
• Zint: A graphic designer by training, he’s one of the more prolific talents in the stable. Though he is way post-teens, his portrayal of the quintessential teenage life is spot-on.
• Kaoru: She has been in love with comics ever since she was old enough to grasp a pencil and draw. No wonder she’s the first female comic artist in Malaysia to ever appear with manga-influenced style. Kaoru is finalist for “Story Comic Category” at Oriental Animation & Comic Competition 2005, Beijing.
• Slaium: The Chief Editor of comic department, his style of drawing may be as varied as the colors of a chameleon but one thing is constant – quality. Slaium is the winner for MSC Malaysia Digital Comic Design Multimedia Development Corporation, MDEC 2006 and was a Guest Speaker at the Asian Comic Art Symposium cum Workshop in 2004.
• Kenny: Holding the position as the Chief Editor for Art Square Group Chinese magazines, he is trained as an animation artist but found his love in comic drawing. Clean lines and unforgettable character designs are his forte. He is the winner in the Malaysia Best Comic Awards year 2001.
